If your system uses a compatible wiring setup, which most forced-air systems do, we can typically complete the swap in one visit. Homes with multiple heating or cooling zones often need more than one thermostat installed and linked together under a single app, which we scope and quote based on how many zones your system has. Some homes have a dedicated C-wire already run to the thermostat location and some don't; we check for one during the visit, and if it's missing, most modern smart thermostats can still work using a C-wire adapter kit rather than requiring new wiring pulled through the wall. For multi-zone systems, we also make sure each zone's thermostat is correctly labeled in the app so schedules and away-mode settings apply to the right rooms.
